On Regrets...

Have you ever asked yourself why do we regret things that came to pass? Regret that we did something, or regret because we didn't do anything about it!

Its a complicated feeling really, questions of what might have happened if only we did the opposite of what we have done, or what could have happened if we did something and not just let it pass away.

We shed tears sometimes, because something or someone was lost for we were not able to comprehend to the situation and as it came to pass we realize what we did, and simply regret and hoped we did the other way around to justify the result of what we have done.

Sometimes, some things can be corrected, and so many things can be learned when we accept the consequences of our actions but then the feeling of regret could be compared to a knife that cuts deep in our heart and soul and there were times we are drowned by it and could no longer move on.

We are hurt, but that should not be the end, we should treat it as the start of a new beginning and accept the lessons and regard it as a wake up call, patches could be made, and the scar from the wound is a just reminder of the things that should and should not be done.

People do have regrets but sometimes, people will have to learn not to regret. If things have been done with forethought, there should be no regrets. If there is no forethought but things have been done with good intention, there should be no regrets. If there is forethought and good intention but the outcome is not to our expectation here may be some regrets but then why regrets when these are things not within our control. If again there is neither forethoughts nor good intention, there may be great regrets but must it be forever? Our crime is just being human and that is not a big crime at all. When we realise our mistakes, we can always change and be ready to tackle a similar situation better in future. The past has been done and what has been done and left undone we could do nothing about; so, why regret? The fault does not entirely rest on our shoulders; it always take at least two to tango and while we could be wrong, the other party is not entirely right. All said, why should you be the only one to be suffering? Why do you allow yourself to suffer so? This shouldn't be the path we choose even if the fault lies entirely with us. Isn't there a better person elsewhere for you to cherish? Aren't you good enough for yourself to cherish? People need another sometimes to make their life complete and most of the time that someone is just inside you waiting to be discovered. Look within you, Terence. I believe there is a beautiful being there who could light up your life@
